    I joined Fidelity I was obese. With The help of my motivation and inspirational of my Personal Trainer Mark Gracia I set up a goal to lose weight & become lean. At the start it was very difficult but with the push Mark gave me it helped me achieve my goal.

    With his training and nutritional advice within a year I achieved my target weight and am now on to my next goal of having a 6-pack, something I could only dream about before.

    The program & nutritional plan Mark designed for me was key to my achievement. We workout 3-4 times a week, of which is 3 sessions of resistance training and the 4th is circuit training and cardio training. The nutritional plan was designed to compliment my training and my day to day schedule, which made it easy to follow!

    Initially it was a tough but I got stronger and once I started seeing a difference it motivated me to reach my goal.

    I joined Fidelity in December of 2012, weighting around 113 kg with Diabetes and high cloistral and overall poor state of health. I need to make lifestyle changes and I finally had the courage to start my journey, slowly but surely, taking one step at a time to combat my bad habits, diet and incredible laziness.

    From 76 kg on 2nd October, 2013 to 64 kg as on 25th April 2014, has been quite a transformational journey of the mind and body alike, a much needed one and I owe it all to my gym, Fidelity Fitness Club, and my Personal Trainer, Mark Garcia!!!

    Looking back, I'd say, a lot of decisions taken by me went perfect; to begin with is my choice of gym and signing up for Personal Training. I consider my expenditure on fitness as an investment for a better, fitter and a more confident "me", for which I was willing to forgo a few luxury and lifestyle expenses. Hence, there was no compromising when it came to choosing the right gym and absolutely no second thoughts on signing up for Personal Training.

    Fidelity Fitness Club, JLT

    Amongst all the gyms/ health/ fitness centers in and around JLT, what I found more inviting and appealing about Fidelity FC is it's glamorous location, in a prestigious tower, the lake side view from the cardio section, the layout with ample daylight coming in through the tall French windows and a high ceiling giving a sense of space, the seriousness in the atmosphere towards fitness and attempts thereof, the upkeep of the premises and attention to details that are commensurate to its Diamond edition status. From Day one, I have found the club inviting rather than a drag, and all the training, as well as non- training staff highly professional and very supportive and encouraging of one's effort on the floor.

    Personal Training

    I signed up for Personal Training in a week time after joining the gym to ensure faster results in a more structured, calibrated and scientific manner and to optimize the resources available on the gym floor. While all the Trainers are equally competent, I opted for Mark Garcia, which was an absolute no brainer, on account of his structured, unrelenting and disciplined approach on the floor with his clients, which immediately clicked with me and my personality type. Mark is not only an experienced Trainer but also a very enthusiastic one, which is a wonderful combination for optimum results.

    The workout strategy

    More than loosing inches I was keen on building my Strength and Stamina (which I have termed as " the 2S strategy") knowing very well the former will follow suit. Mark's program of 3 days a week of 1 hour Training alternating with my 3 days a week of cardio routine helped me immensely to build my strength and stamina. Mark's swiftness on the floor with a mix of weight, functional and core training, kept slicing my extra pounds proportionately. From a basic fitness routine, he seamlessly advanced me to more rigorous circuit training, in a mere 30 sessions of focused personal training.

    Among my early first achievements was -

    • When I started getting into my pre-pregnancy clothes
    • When I saw the expressions of awe on my friends faces and the compliments that followed
    • When I completed Fidelity Fitness Clubs Fun Run Challenge successfully, and thereafter a 5km run in Sharjah, with Winter 2014 registrations already in the pipeline

    To sum it all, It's an amazing feeling that cardio routines don't seem boring anymore and the gym feels like second home that I am now incomplete without for the rest of my life.

    I realised my weight had gotten totally put of hand and I knew I had to drastically change my life style before I was diagnosed with a serious illness such as diabetes. I made the first step and signed up to Fidelity Fitness Club. But I also took it one step further and got myself a Personal Trainer who could push me to my limits. Bryan was amazing. He worked with me and was there every step of the way even when I tell like giving up he never stopped pushing me to achieve my best.

    I know I still have a long way to go to reach my goal weight but I am in great hands with Fidelity Fitness. “You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great”

    When I first joined Fidelity I didn't have any intention of taking PT, I didn't really want to go to the gym but knew it was something I had to do. After my first 2 complimentary lessons with Toby, I was surprised that I actually enjoyed it. Having someone there to motivate me through an entire session really helped to change my negative mindset of going to the gym into a positive. I then signed up for personal training with Toby for the next 3 months and I never looked back.

    Training with Toby encouraged me to work hard to become a fitter and healthier me. He gave me regular advice about what to eat, although generally I maintained my normal diet but healthier versions of it. Since joining Fidelity to the end of my 3 months with Toby, I lost 7kg and had to buy an entire new wardrobe.
    I am confident with how I look now but I’m determined to keep going and get even fitter. If anyone is considering getting a PT, I would recommend it 100%. It motivates you to keep going, even if you don't feel like going to the gym, knowing someone is there counting on you to show up motivates you. Toby is a great personal trainer and has become a great friend, if you put the effort in you will see the results! I have since continued PT sessions with Toby in order to maintain the results I have achieved.
